Australia Photography Locations Guide Follow up

Written 7 years ago by Mark Evans

A few weeks ago we went over some stunning locations to photograph in Australia. From that article we received a few good tips from readers. We’ll share them with you here, so you’ve got the low down on the not so well known local spots. Heres some suggestions that we received from Derek Bryne.

Fingal Head

Derek had a few great suggestions including Fingal Head (northern New South Wales). This looks to be a fantastic location, with a stunning rock formation of basalt columns, which look to rival the Giants Causeway in Ireland, combined with some nice looking beaches this place looks to be a winner.

Currumbin

Currumbin is located close to Surfers Paradise so its not surprising to see some nice wave action around these parts. Throw in rocks and sand, and you’ve got a good combo for a great shot.

Snapper Rocks & Rainbow Bay

One thing Australia is not short of is wonderful rock formations along the coastline. Snapper Rocks and Rainbow Bay look like they’re prime examples, and theres no shortage of waves to capture or surf either! Another suggestion was the Southport Seaway, so check it out if you’re in the area too.

I live bout 38km away from Fingal but seem to bypass the place on the way to Byron Bay or stop just up the road at Currumbin or Snapper. I’ll be making my way down there very soon.

Nice photos! For those who plan to visit Australia(WA), or Western Australia in particular, I suggest go to Albany and Cape Leeuwin, located at the very south west of WA.
